About us
Our Mission
The goal of Gordie Howe CARES is to ensure dignity, support, and education are provided to the caregivers of people living with Alzheimer’s and dementia related illness so they are never alone on their journey.
Partnering with passionate expert consultants, and through direct engagement within the community, Gordie Howe CARES has developed a highly connected network where shared experiences help to design specialized caregiver tools and resources.
Through the ongoing development of caregiver support applications and personalized and practical expert guidance, Gordie Howe CARES stands with caregivers in the moments when support is needed most.
Our in-depth research and caregiver community experiences continue to demonstrate that with the proper support, our initiatives and program development show real impact, allowing caregivers to put themselves in a better position to be a support themselves.
The Gordie Howe CARES effort and initiatives focus on three key pillars.
Continued development and expansion of caregiver support offerings such as CAPS — the Caregiver and Patient Support Program — increasing the accessibility for families at all stages of dementia.
Support
Education
Investment in education, awareness, and early intervention, ensuring individuals and families can access meaningful support earlier than ever before through programs such as Ripples of Care and expanded community outreach.
Research
Gordie Howe CARES directly supports research on the physical and emotional needs of caregivers and those living with Dementia. This effort helps create further educational support by learning directly from those who have experienced the caregiving journey.
