Jay Haralson

EVENT CHAIR

For more than four years, Jay Harralson has guided Gordie Howe CARES as Board Chair, all while also leading the Gordie Howe CARES Pro-Am; demonstrating unmatched dedication to looking at opportunities to assist Caregivers and those impacted by Dementia. Having served on the Board of Directors for Gordie Howe CARES since 2017, Jay became Board Chair in 2021, and as a participant of the Gordie Howe Cares Pro-Am since its inception, Jay has been Event Chair since 2018 — a position he will continue to maintain. In his professional field, Jay is the Director and Team Lead of Private Banking at Scotia Wealth Management.

Jay’s passion for this cause stems from a personal family history of Alzheimer’s and Dementia and the impact he has witnessed and experienced for all caregivers. Growing up in a hockey family, Jay looked up to Gordie as both an inspiration and an idol. This, in addition to the ties that his family had to the Howe family, meant that when the opportunity presented itself to become part of the Gordie Howe CARES team, it was an easy decision to make.

“Caregivers are the true unsung heroes in the Alzheimer’s Dementia journey and supporting and helping them navigate a confusing landscape at an overwhelming time is why I’m most passionate about the work that Gordie Howe Cares is involved with.”
