As the CEO of J5 Design, John leads a human-centred design consultancy that provides innovation-related services for some of Canada’s largest organizations, including the Government of Alberta, United Way Canada, and Alberta Health Services. Prior to starting J5, he had senior leadership roles in large enterprise organizations such as Ernst and Young, Xerox Canada, and Capgemini Consulting.

Several years ago, John’s mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Like many others, John struggled to balance the needs of his family, friends, and professional career as he attempted to navigate highly complex and fragmented government, and non-profit and private support systems. As someone who is passionate about challenging traditional approaches and creating better human experiences, John is proud of his role as the Chair of Strategic Planning for Gordie Howe CARES, where they are creating simpler ways for caregivers to make better choices for their own care needs and those of their loved ones.
